Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS). As its law firm outside counsel, led a team of 500+ FTEs spanning North America, Europe, and APAC serving Fortune 100, $1.18T (AUM) MS, including structuring transactions, informing corporate governance, and laying the groundwork for success in key markets. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT). As Regulator of LMT, during tenure with Defense Contract Audit Agency, strengthened audit controls and systems, bolstered IP and software data rights legal and policy framework, and led key dispute resolution, bi-partisan settlement.
Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC). As NOC’s Regulator during tenure with Defense Contract Management Agency provided strategic counsel related to $19B+ in open contracts. An innovator, lateral thinker, and cyber change agent, Nygina leads paradigm-shifting transformations that allow businesses to scale. As Director of Strategic Initiatives Directorate of the U.S. Department of Education, she led its innovation engine, Idea Lab. Nygina also served as an executive of a global finance organization where she collaborated with stakeholders producing 5000+ audit reports annually, examined $300B+ in payment/budget spend per fiscal year, and optimized expenditure across 9000+ corporate providers worldwide. Nygina translates complex regulations, laws, statutes, and policies into common sense concepts that anchor boards’ governance. She has served as the American Bar Association’s Vice-Chair, Public Contract Law Accounting Cost and Pricing Committee, and was the Vice Chair, Commercial Products and Services Committee. She has served as a trusted expert instrumental in shaping federal, state, and local policy regulating companies’ products and services.
Nygina Mills graduated from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. She holds a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Securities, International Business and Economic Law. Nygina graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Outside of the boardroom, Nygina volunteers with both the Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School Alumni Associations and is an active investor and advisor with the Harvard Business School Alumni Angels. Nygina enjoys analyzing geopolitical trends that impact business results. Coming from a family of physicians, her personal passions include health, wellness, and fitness.
